這是英國旅程最後一站

第二天，我哋主要去參觀 Roman Baths 羅馬浴場。由巨石陣揸車過去大約只需一個鐘，今次好幸運，順利泊到公眾停車場，由停車場行去浴場大約十五分鐘左右。

由於 Choco 唔可以入內參觀，所以我哋只好同 Jason Daddy 前後腳輪流入去，始終要有人留喺外面照顧 Choco 🐶。

入到浴場後，我哋冇借翻譯機，只係跟住人群慢慢行、慢慢參觀。原來當年嘅建築同環境保存得幾完整，令人可以想像到古羅馬時代人們喺呢度浸浴、社交同生活嘅情景。

當然，最吸引嘅一定係當年嘅大浴池！不過……啲水睇落真係有啲污糟 😱 Jason 仲話：「啲水完全唔郁㗎！」好在而家已經唔會有人落去浸浴，否則我諗我都未必夠膽落水 🤣

我哋沿住樓梯行到地面時，見到有一班人喺其中一道窗前影相，好奇之下，我哋又走過去望吓。原來另一邊有一個細小嘅浴池，仲可以見到真正嘅溫泉水不斷湧出來！泉水睇落非常清澈，起碼冇垃圾浮喺水面 😆

展覽入面仲見到浴場嘅泥沙，據說以前有人相信呢啲泥可以醫治皮膚病 🤪，另外仲有關於「詛咒」嘅傳說。原來古羅馬人如果畀人偷咗嘢，會寫低詛咒內容，交畀神明，希望神明懲罰小偷。整個浴場除咗有歷史感，仲帶住一點神秘色彩，真係幾特別！

到 Jason Daddy 入去參觀時，我同 Jason 就喺外面嘅公眾廣場坐低休息，等 Choco 自由行吓、周圍探索。

Choco 真係一位「親善大使」🐶💕，幾乎成日都有人主動走過嚟同佢玩、摸吓佢、同佢影相。如果每一個過嚟撩佢玩嘅人畀我哋 £1，我諗我哋已經可以食一餐非常豐富嘅晚餐啦 😂

佢真係人見人愛！

差唔多下午四點，我哋就開始揸車前往倫敦，準備過英國旅程嘅最後一晚。因為第二日，我哋就正式返香港放暑假啦 ✈️🇭🇰

而 Choco 到咗晚上仍然非常精神，瞓喺酒店房入面，成晚望住門口 👀🐶。

真係唔知佢係認真守門，定係八卦聽到其他房客喺走廊出出入入呢？🤪

21|Roman Baths

Our Final Stop Before Heading Back to London

On our second day, our main destination was the Roman Baths. It took us only about an hour to drive there from Stonehenge. We were lucky to find a space in a public car park, and it was only around a 15-minute walk to the entrance.

Since Choco was not allowed inside, Jason’s dad and I had to take turns visiting the baths while the other stayed outside to look after him 🐶.

Once inside, we didn’t rent an audio guide. We simply followed the crowd and explored at our own pace. To our surprise, much of the original architecture and surroundings had been remarkably well preserved, making it easy to imagine what life might have been like during Roman times.

Of course, the highlight was the ancient bathing area itself! However… the water looked rather dirty 😱 Jason even said, “The water isn’t moving at all!” Luckily, no one is allowed to bathe in it nowadays — otherwise, I’m not sure I would dare to go anywhere near it 😂

As we walked down the stairs towards the lower level, we noticed some people taking photos through one of the windows. Being curious, we went over to have a look too. On the other side was a small pool where natural hot spring water was still flowing out!

The water looked much cleaner and clearer — at least there was no rubbish floating on the surface 😆

Inside the exhibition, we also saw mud and sediment from the baths. According to ancient beliefs, the mineral-rich mud was thought to help treat skin conditions 🤪. There were also stories about ancient Roman curse tablets. People who had lost something or had been stolen from would write down a curse and ask the gods to punish the thief. It was definitely a fascinating place, filled with history and a touch of mystery.

When it was Jason’s dad’s turn to go inside, Jason and I sat down in the public square outside to rest while Choco enjoyed walking around and exploring.

Choco really is a little “friendship ambassador” 🐶💕. He attracted so many people who came over to say hello, stroke him, play with him, or take photos. If everyone who stopped to play with him had given us £1, I think we could have enjoyed a very fancy dinner that evening 😂

He really is loved by everyone!

At around 4 p.m., we started driving back to London for our final night in the UK. The next day, we would officially be flying back to Hong Kong to begin our summer holiday ✈️🇭🇰

Even that night, Choco was still wide awake. He kept staring at the hotel room door for hours 👀🐶.

I really couldn’t tell whether he was seriously guarding the door or simply being nosy and listening to all the other hotel guests coming and going in the corridor 🤪
